Features: The motherland has a long and profound history. Ancient sages like Qi Huang and Shennong marked the beginning of medicine; Han Dynasty's Zhang Zhongjing and Hua Tuo were revered as the sages of medicine. Throughout the long river of the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), outstanding clinical masters have emerged one after another, promoting the rapid advancement of TCM. To carry forward the spirit of inheriting and promoting the motherland's medical heritage—without rigid adherence to the past but staying true to its essence—the China National Press of TCM, after completing the publication of The Complete Collection of Famous TCM Practitioners in Ming and Qing Dynasties, has planned the Series of 100 Famous TCM Clinical Masters of the 20th Century. This series aims to reflect the journey of TCM development in the modern era, especially since the founding of the People's Republic of China 50 years ago. We invited Minister Zhang Wenkang of the Ministry of Health to serve as the chief editor of this series, with Vice Minister of Health and Director of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NATCM) She Jing and Deputy Director of NATCM Li Zhenji as deputy editors. They readily agreed and personally organized hundreds of TCM experts to compile the series. After years of effort, it was finally launched in the early 21st century. This series plans to publish around 140 volumes, featuring TCM practitioners who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in clinical practice, enjoy high prestige nationwide, and possess profound academic expertise. They represent prominent figures in various fields of TCM, including internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, acupuncture, and moxibustion.
