Brief Introduction: This book is designed for university physics problem discussion courses and was compiled based on the fundamental requirements for physics teaching in engineering universities formulated by the National Education Commission's Physics Curriculum Guidance Committee. The second volume contains detailed solutions to the in-class problems selected in the first volume. This book can be used as a reference for physics problem discussion courses in engineering universities, as well as for non-physics majors in universities, evening classes for workers, radio and television universities, and adult self-study exams in physics.

2. The purpose of the selection is to clarify the nature and methods of analyzing static friction. The direction of static friction is opposite to the relative sliding tendency of the object with respect to the contact surface. The relative sliding tendency refers to the direction of the object's sliding relative to the contact surface when it is assumed that there is no static friction between the object and the contact surface. Additionally, the magnitude of static friction adjusts automatically with changes in the relative sliding tendency, with the principle being to resist the occurrence of relative sliding. The maximum limit of static friction is the maximum static friction force \( f_{\text{max}} = \mu N \). Based on these properties of static friction, the following problems are analyzed.
