Features: Huang Binhong served as a professor at Shanghai Xinhua Art College, Shanghai Art College, Beijing National Art College, and Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. He was an excellent teacher who never ceased to learn and tirelessly taught others. Su's saying, "Specialize in what you know and you will excel," perfectly describes Huang Binhong's approach to teaching his disciples. Those who personally received his guidance knew his dedication and patience. When explaining basic painting techniques—such as outlining, shading, dotting, coloring, texturing, and rubbing—he demonstrated every detail meticulously. He also used the concept of "Tai Chi" to explain the dynamics of painting, often creating illustrations to help his students understand better. He was always eager to ensure his disciples grasped the material, often gifting them copies of his works. When I studied under his tutelage years ago, I received several of his teaching sketches, which I still treasure in my "Bantang Studio" to this day.
