Features: Ye Qisheng was born in Qishan County, Shaanxi Province. From 1976 to 1978, he served as a laborer in Anle People's Commune, Qishan County, Shaanxi Province, where he received guidance and instruction from many teachers, assisted in teaching, and continuously studied painting, significantly improving his artistic skills. In 1978, he was admitted to the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He studied under numerous distinguished masters, including Lu Youduo, Lu Chen, Zhou Sichen, Liu Boshu, Zhang Lichen, Zhang Ping, and Li Xingjian. Since 1982, he has worked at the Shaanxi People's Fine Arts Publishing House, engaged in the editing and publishing of art books. In his spare time, he pursues the study and creation of Chinese painting, specializing in figures while also working on landscapes. His works, such as "Village Entrance," "Lantern Festival," "Deep in the Han River," and "Persimmons Ripe," have been exhibited, awarded prizes, or selected for inclusion in art collections. Occasionally, he sketches figures, emphasizing the acquisition of artistic knowledge from real life. He focuses on traditional "form-spirit" concepts such as "depicting spirit through form" and "harmony of form and spirit," emphasizing accurate composition, skilled brushwork, strong integration of lines and planes, and capturing the fleeting expressions and movements of figures. His characters are vivid and emotionally resonant, effectively conveying their personalities and demonstrating remarkable artistic talent.
