Features: When selecting content on the history of Chinese education, this book focuses on introducing educational ideas and systems that have had a significant impact on the development of Chinese education and hold practical relevance. In terms of educational ideas, we do not limit ourselves to the educational thoughts of educators but also include the educational ideas of politicians who have had a significant influence on education. Secondly, we highlight the ideas of educational reform. Adhering to the strategy of "opening up and reform" is currently a major political policy in China. Without reform, there can be no development and progress, and this is also true in the field of education. Therefore, we pay particular attention to the content related to educational reform in the history of education, especially in modern China, where we have dedicated a chapter to discussing "Educational Reform and Development in Modern China" to allow readers to grasp the essence. When selecting content on the history of foreign education, we first consider the educational theories of this country or region, which are primarily influenced by Western developed capitalist countries, as well as the former Soviet Union, Japan, and Arab countries. We strive to present both perspectives side by side to facilitate a comparative understanding. After providing an overview of the modern education development in major capitalist countries, we then introduce the modern educational theories of these countries. Thirdly, we highlight the content that has had a direct impact on the development of Chinese education.
