Features: This book is divided into three parts.
Part 1: The primary feature of this section is that the editors connect it to the IELTS exam and explain every word. One of the key features is the examples, as the IELTS exam emphasizes the ability of candidates to use flexible, long sentences. However, traditional dictionaries often have short and outdated examples, which fail to meet the requirements of the IELTS exam. The editors carefully selected novel and versatile long-sentence examples from newly published overseas newspapers, magazines, and websites. The second major feature of this section is the root analysis of each word. Long words are broken down into shorter ones for easier memorization, providing students with a golden key to understanding the internal structure of words. As the saying goes, "Understanding leads to memorization," and the purpose of this section is also to help students remember words by understanding their internal structure.
Part 2: This section covers advanced vocabulary, with over 1,000 words, divided into 5 days of memorization over 66 to 70 days. It primarily serves the IELTS reading section and can also expand students' vocabulary.
Part 3: Based on the content commonly involved in the IELTS exam, the editors created 10 thematic units, to be memorized over 10 days (71 to 80 days). Each unit provides 100 to 200 commonly used words. The goal is to familiarize students with these topics and expand their vocabulary in the last 10 days before the exam.
The guiding philosophy of this book is to first build strength before discussing techniques. The reading materials in this book are authoritative, mostly sourced from articles in major British and American media. The questions are carefully selected and refined based on past IELTS exam topics. The skill training after 60 days in this book is entirely built upon the solid foundation laid in the first 60 days. In terms of summarizing techniques, this book can be said to be the most comprehensive and convincing currently available. Moreover, when arranging the questions, the book fully considers the learning capacity of students, adopting a step-by-step approach with a combination of theory and practice, making it easier for students to absorb and digest the content.
