This book is composed of three parts. The first part is a compilation organized and translated by the author on the historical development, current doctrines, and judicial practices of the EU and its member states' limited liability company laws, which largely reflects the new developments in limited liability company law in the EU and its member states. The second part consists of research papers completed by doctoral and master's students during the Limited Liability Company Law Seminar held by the author in the fall of 2004. The third part includes papers on limited liability company law submitted to the China-EU Company Law Symposium, organized by the Institute of EU Law at Southwest University of Political Science and Law, in collaboration with the School of Civil and Commercial Law and the School of Economics and Trade Law at the same university. The remaining expert papers will be published in the book "Company Law: International Experiences and Theoretical Frameworks," edited by Professors Zhao Wanyi and Lu Daifu. The domestic expert papers included in this book basically reflect the direction that China's limited liability company law reform should take.
