Features: In the late 1930s and early 1940s, the streets of Shanghai, from bustling downtown to quiet alleys, witnessed several battles between men, ghosts, and demons. In this Eastern metropolis, while courtesan houses and singing bars remained, amidst the seductive melodies, splashes of human blood stained the walls; while the graceful streets of Zhangtai were still safe, ghostly wails echoed in the ornate halls; ordinary workers' dormitories, shops, newspapers offices, and banks suddenly turned into scenes of sand flying, darkness enveloping the sky, and flesh and blood flying. This was a fierce struggle between humans and ghosts, as well as a clash between demons. If one dares to peek into the source of these evils—the demon dens—although it is a place where "the moon is dim, the lights flicker green, and the wind carries a sullen howl," one can uncover their secrets, expose their tricks, and thus equip kind-hearted people with more caution. The ancients said, those who seek renowned mountains must endure winding paths; those who crave bear paws must endure slow cooking; those who wish to admire the moonlight must endure the late night; and those who desire beautiful women must endure hair combing. Then, to investigate these demon dens, one should also endure the bloodshed and carry a bag of olives.
