This book is designed based on the elective modules of the General Senior High School English Curriculum Standards and belongs to the language knowledge and skills category. The series is divided into two volumes according to the fields of English language: Focus on Social Hotspots and Glimpses of English-Speaking Country Culture. In accordance with the requirements of the senior high school English curriculum standards, levels (Level 6, 7, and 8, corresponding to Grade 10, 11, and 12, respectively) and word counts are marked after each reading passage, allowing teachers to select materials based on students' specific proficiency levels.
The content of this series is closely related to modern life, covers a wide range of topics, and has a strong sense of the times, which helps to spark students' interest in English, enhance their language intuition, and improve their humanities literacy. The writing approach of this textbook is based on task-based reading activities in classroom teaching practice. Many articles in the book have been validated through classroom teaching practices and student surveys, demonstrating their high practical value, strong operability, and a certain degree of scientificity, knowledge, and interest.
