Features: Since 1901, the awarding of the Nobel Prize has been regarded as "a gift left to humanity by an individual to promote the cause of human progress and welfare, with a purely idealistic purpose." However, it has long been a mystery how to interpret and execute the will, leading to the claim that "the history of the Nobel Prize in Literature seems to be a history of continuously interpreting a will with ambiguous wording." This puzzle has puzzled the world for a century and has also caused difficulties for the Swedish Academy. Theoretically, the Literature Prize is awarded to those "who have created the best works with an idealistic in literature." After World War II, the selection of the Nobel Prize in Literature placed greater emphasis on "literary pioneers" and also believed that only a realistic portrayal of the value and dilemmas of human existence could be considered a historically profound "idealistic."
As of now, there have been 101 Nobel Prize-winning authors; it will become a permanent award that stands the test of time. This book collects 41 interviews with 31 winning authors. Most translators are renowned translators, and many are experts in the study of their respective countries' literatures. The translations are mostly direct translations from the original texts, with only a small number being translated from other languages, making them highly authoritative.
