The Three Gorges is undoubtedly an important totem in my life or literary life. From my grandfather holding a bamboo ruler to me read "Three Hundred Poems of the Tang Dynasty" to begin with, the gorges have been flowing through my life. The Three Gorges of my childhood and youth were the poetry of the gorges, the painting of the gorges, the myths and legends of the gorges, the bold ink, the freehand brushwork, the majestic and misty gorges, the gorges of the Wu Mountain Goddess, Qu Yuan of Zigui, and Zhaojun of Xiangxi. Those Three Gorges were misty like fog, ethereal like a dream.
