1. The China Agricultural Yearbook is a reference book that reflects the basic conditions of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery, town and village enterprises, agricultural reclamation, household machinery, water conservancy, and meteorology in our country. It is published annually, with little repetition of content from previous volumes.
2. The contributors to the yearbook are primarily staff members from relevant professional agencies and research departments. Statistical data are provided or verified by the National Bureau of Statistics and the planning departments of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Meteorology, and other relevant ministries (bureaus), as well as relevant departments in all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government. These data are first published in this yearbook.
3. The provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities are arranged in the order of administrative divisions.
4. The time boundary of the data in this yearbook is generally the end of 1999.
5. The data for each category are limited to materials from the 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government. The total output value of each item, unless otherwise specified, is calculated at current prices, and the year-on-year growth rate is computed based on comparable prices.
6. The content of the yearbook, while adhering to the Four Cardinal Principles, bears the responsibility of the authors.
