Features: The English-Chinese and Chinese-English Science and Technology Dictionary Project was sponsored by the Information Department of the former State Science and Technology Commission, with Mr. Qian Sanqiang and Mr. Yuan Hanqing serving as consultants, and implemented by the China Information Research Institute. It was included in the "Eighth Five-Year Plan," "Ninth Five-Year Plan," and Key Project Plan of the China Information Research Institute. The "Chinese-English Science and Technology Dictionary" is another product of this project following the publication of the "English-Chinese Science and Technology Dictionary." It is a large-scale comprehensive bilingual dictionary that primarily collects basic terms and common vocabulary in natural sciences and engineering technology. To meet the needs of the socialist market economy and reform and opening-up, it also selectively includes a certain number of terms related to economics and law. The dictionary contains approximately 400,000 entries and serves as a reference tool for professionals in various disciplines such as science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, and biology, as well as for engineering technicians and university teachers and students.
