With the rapid development of higher education in China, universities have been expanding enrollment year after year, leading to an increasing number of undergraduate and junior college students facing graduation projects. Due to the growing demand for computer professionals in society, the computer applications major has seen even larger-scale expansions. In this context, whether universities can ensure the quality of all teaching stages, especially the quality of graduation projects, and cultivate qualified undergraduate and junior college graduates who meet societal needs has become a concern for schools, parents, enterprises, and society as a whole.
As a teacher who has long worked on the front lines of teaching and scientific research, I deeply understand the importance of the organization and management of graduation projects. At the same time, since 2001, I have served as the Deputy General Manager and Manager of the Development Department at a high-tech software company in Beijing, responsible for the recruitment and training of technical personnel while conducting scientific research and product development. Through the collective efforts of all employees, the company has grown from 20 people three years ago to over 100 employees today, with annual sales approaching 30 million RMB. During the recruitment process, I found that a significant proportion of fresh graduates lacked basic scientific work attitudes and methods. Upon further investigation, I realized that this was due to their indifference and superficial efforts in graduation projects. Conversely, fresh graduates who approached graduation projects with diligence and achieved excellent thesis results were able to quickly adapt to company work, perform outstandingly, and gain recognition and promotion.
Therefore, as a university teacher and employer representative, I call on all universities in China to pay close attention to the organization and management of graduation projects, to strictly enforce standards, and to curb opportunistic behavior, indifference, and superficial efforts.
