Publish Date: 2005-01-01
Features: Su Shi was a highly influential lyric poet during the Northern Song Dynasty. He not only vigorously advocated for the use of poetry as lyrics, reforming the prevailing (licentious and decadent style) in the lyrical world since the Tang and Five Dynasties periods, but also, in his creative practice, comprehensively inherited the thematic scope of previous lyrical works, enriching both the subject matter and ideological content of lyrics, and elevating their literary status. This book is based on the Su Shi section of 《》 (Revised and Annotated Complete Lyrics of the Song Dynasty), including a total of 360 lyrics. The annotations primarily reference the following editions: Xue Duansheng's 《》 (Chronological Verification of Su Shi's Lyrics), Zou Tongqing and Wang Zongtang's 《》 (Chronological Annotation and Correction of Su Shi's Lyrics), Tang Guizhang's 《》 (Complete Lyrics of the Song Dynasty), Song Fugan's 《》 (Annotated Su Shi Lyrics), and Long Yusheng's 《》 (Annotations on Su Shi's Lyrical Collection).
