Political Analysis of European Integration

Features: The purpose of this book is to determine the type of European cooperation, analyze the motivations and objectives of European cooperation, and attempt to explain integration from a reasonable perspective of traditional international relations theory. Shortly after the war, Western European countries led by France and Germany began to move towards mutual integration, rather than adopting a strategy of each relying on superpowers and distancing themselves from each other (even a completely paralyzed Germany had never considered permanently relying on the United States or the Soviet Union). This is different from what we see in East Asia, where post-war Japan and South Korea relied on the United States individually and did not form significant cooperation with each other. Why did the cooperation of European countries adopt an integrated form different from traditional cooperation methods? What are the differences and connections between integrated cooperation and traditional alliances? What is the current state of integration development, and what kind of European order has it led to? What position does the EU occupy in the global international system? The author of this book puts forward their own views on these questions.
