Features: The medical textbook project by Higher Education Press was initially initiated, planned, and later joined by dozens of renowned medical schools in China in 2002, with the support of the China Medical Association and the National Higher Education Teaching Research Association. This textbook project involved nearly two thousand authors, including medical giants, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, leaders of relevant medical professional committees, and academic backbone, as well as a large number of mid-career teachers and young educators working on the front lines of teaching and clinical practice. The "Higher Education Press" medical textbooks retain the "three basics" knowledge found in domestic peer textbooks while also removing outdated theories and content based on the transformation of the medical model and changes in the disease spectrum. They introduce recognized new knowledge and technologies. The textbooks are presented in a three-dimensional and serialized format, fully reflecting the characteristics of medical education. In recent years, our press has not only published medical textbooks for other disciplines and levels but has also developed corresponding teaching resource libraries and subject websites to provide three-dimensional teaching packages and solutions for teaching in various institutions. Pursuing advanced educational concepts, teaching methods, and building high-quality textbooks is our common goal! This book mainly includes the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery; related embryology, anatomy, and physiology; common clinical special examination methods and equipment; the etiology, pathology, diagnosis, and treatment of common diseases; indications, contraindications, and surgical techniques of common operations; and rare diseases. The book contains approximately 650,000 words and over 400 illustrations. It reflects changes in the disease spectrum and introduces readers to mature new understandings of diseases and new diagnostic and treatment technologies, with significant adjustments in content compared to previous textbooks. To vividly and vividly present the deep anatomical structures and diseases of the ear, nose, throat, and neck to readers while enhancing students' interest in learning, the book has substantially increased the number of illustrations and adopted color printing. To allow schools to flexibly arrange teaching content, the book has replaced the traditional chapter, section, and sub-section structure with a chapter and section two-level directory. Each textbook comes with one CD-ROM, primarily introducing common surgical techniques in this discipline. In addition to being mainly applicable to undergraduate students in basic medicine, clinical medicine, preventive medicine, nursing, stomatology, and pharmacy, this book can also serve as an important reference and manual for clinical work, postgraduate entrance exams, and professional title promotions in the field of otolaryngology.
