I. This book includes over 10,000 entries of published and unpublished literature on the history of Peking University from 1898 to 2003, covering approximately 400 types of publications such as newspapers, academic journals, serials, historical documents, revolutionary history materials, local history materials, etc. In terms of selection criteria, publicly published works are generally included, while unpublished archival materials held in archives are excluded. Materials held in the Peking University Archives are included.
II. The book is organized into four sections: the first section is the historical essays, the second section is the historical figures, featuring articles on individuals associated with the history of Peking University; the third section is the historical monographs; and the fourth section is the monographs on historical figures.
III. As China's highest academic institution, Peking University has gathered numerous renowned scholars, academic masters, revolutionaries, thinkers, theorists, scientists, and educators, and has nurtured generations of outstanding talents. This book primarily selects influential figures for inclusion in the "Historical Figures" section.
