Features: For beginners of Chinese, mastering measure words can be quite challenging, as most students' native languages do not have measure words, making it difficult for them to get accustomed to using them. Additionally, since only a limited number of measure words can be learned in the initial stage, students often lack a comprehensive understanding and intuitive grasp of them. To help beginners learn measure words in a focused, systematic, and visual manner, we have compiled this book, Learn Measure Words Through Pictures.
Learn Measure Words Through Pictures is a supplementary textbook designed to accompany basic Chinese learning, as well as a script for slides or videos. This book is suitable for foreign students who have completed or are currently studying basic Chinese, as well as foreign teachers and other foreigners with a certain foundation in Chinese.
The book selects 143 commonly used measure words in daily life, including individual, collective, partial, container, temporary, quasi, and motion measure words. Based on the Chinese proficiency of beginners and their daily lives, we have written nearly 300 short situational passages or dialogues using the different meanings and usages of these measure words, accompanied by over 100 illustrations. The vocabulary used in the passages is based on the 967 vocabulary words from the Basic Chinese Textbook (Volumes 1–3) published by the Beijing Language and Culture University in 1979 by the Huayu Language Teaching Press, with an additional 300+ new words added.
