Features: The second edition of Typography Design has been released, and I immediately recalled the difficult situation I faced while promoting basic art and design education for China's art and design majors in the mid-1990s. I couldn't help but sigh—just over a decade has passed, yet China has undergone tremendous changes. I must say a few words about this series of textbooks for higher education art and design majors published by Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House. Since its release in 2001, this series has made a bold and dynamic journey over more than three years. Although the time is not long, it has developed two distinctive features: First, the planning is well-executed, and the compilation is orderly. The series has grown from nothing to something, persistently evolving. Today, it has expanded to 10 varieties, covering all aspects of art and design, and continues to actively explore new fields and disciplines. Second, among similar textbooks, this series has consistently maintained a rigorous and solid academic style, benefiting students deeply. As a result, the textbooks have been continuously reprinted year after year, with the most frequently printed variety reaching eight printings. That is to say, the textbooks have been reprinted twice a year—once in spring and once in autumn—for three years. The data clearly shows that this series has become a fixed textbook for professional learning among teachers and students at schools. In today's highly competitive textbook publishing market, achieving such development is both unexpected and pleasing to us.
