Features: This book attempts to explore the social process of change in Chinese unit organizations by examining anomie phenomena within them. The research focuses on the transition of China's unit system from a "redistribution economy" to a comprehensive market economy over the past 20 years since the reform and opening-up. The study selects three cross-sectional points—1987, 1993, and 2001—to conduct a diachronic examination of anomie issues in the transformation of unit organizations. It attempts to investigate the values and behavioral orientations of unit members from a reverse perspective, thereby examining the specific processes of organizational change at different time periods. Furthermore, through comparison and analysis, the study investigates whether members' behaviors in different unit types and organizational forms differ in work and life, to what extent, and under what conditions. Finally, the research aims to identify and explain this difference, thereby attempting to fundamentally explain the social process of change in Chinese unit organizations.
