They fight for their country.

Author: (Soviet) Sholokhov / Li Yongquan
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2005-02-01
Features: This book is a trilogy of novels planned by the renowned Soviet writer and Nobel Prize laureate Sholokhov. Unfortunately, Sholokhov did not complete this monumental work during his lifetime, nor did he even finish a single volume. The currently circulating They Fight for Their Country consists of chapters from the volumes published during his lifetime. Some chapters were written during the war years, while others were created after the war. The novel depicts not the grand scale of the Soviet Red Army's offensive, but rather the scenes of the Red Army's retreat, to be precise, its defeat. It was once adapted into a Soviet film and received significant acclaim. This translation is based on the 2001 edition published by the Russian Echo Publishing House, which added some previously unpublished chapters reflecting peaceful life after Sholokhov's death (1985). Dedicated to commemorate the brave souls who sacrificed their lives in the World War II against fascism! An immortal work that has influenced and inspired billions for half a century!
