The "National Qualification Examination Syllabus for Teachers of Chinese as a Foreign Language" was formulated for the qualification examination of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language. The "National Qualification Examination Syllabus for Teachers of Chinese as a Foreign Language" is a guiding syllabus and the basis for the of the qualification examination of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language. After each subject syllabus, the designated reference books are listed. Here are a few supplementary notes on the "National Qualification Examination Syllabus for Teachers of Chinese as a Foreign Language":
1. Regarding the Mandarin Chinese requirement. The theoretical knowledge of Mandarin Chinese is included in the syllabus of Modern Chinese Phonetics, but the oral examination in Mandarin Chinese must be prepared according to the requirements of the Mandarin Chinese Proficiency Test formulated by the National Language Commission. The expert evaluation team of the Committee decided that teachers applying for the qualification of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language after 1998 must, in addition to passing the qualification examination of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language, obtain a Mandarin Chinese Proficiency Test certificate issued by a designated Mandarin Chinese Proficiency Test center designated by the National Language Commission or the National Language and Character Commission of provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, with a first-class or second-class first-class (including second-class first-class) level.
2. Regarding the Ancient Chinese syllabus. The general part of the Ancient Chinese syllabus has relatively detailed restrictions, while the part on literary theory does not have specific regulations. Learners should take the "Selections" part of the designated reference books as the focus of reading, adopt a combination of theory and practice, i.e., "Selections" combined with "General," and do more necessary exercises to improve their theoretical knowledge level and reading ability to a greater extent.
3. Regarding the foreign language examination. The foreign language examination is a proficiency test and is conducted in a standardized examination format, without a list of reference books. This syllabus only lists the syllabi for English and Japanese. For other languages, please review according to the requirements for foreign language proficiency in relevant documents.
Teaching Chinese as a foreign language is an emerging discipline, and it is still in the process of development. The "National Qualification Examination Syllabus for Teachers of Chinese as a Foreign Language" still needs to be further improved and enriched.
