The Civil Code of Taiwan was enacted in mainland China in 1929, based on the German Civil Code while also incorporating legislative examples from Switzerland and Japan. Since 1946, it has been applied in Taiwan, now over half a century later, providing an efficient and stable private legal order for social and economic development. My works aim to analyze and discuss the social changes in the Civil Code and the interactive relationship between theory and practice. They focus on applying legal methods to conduct in-depth research on specific cases, interpreting the application of the Civil Code, synthesizing doctrines and case law, and attempting to construct fundamental concepts, theoretical frameworks, and guiding principles of the Civil Code with rigorous arguments and reasoning. I hope this updated reissue will continue to contribute to the progress and development of civil law studies in China.
