After multiple revisions, we have condensed the explanations and exercises for various question types into this book, titled "Exam Easy," with the hope of helping candidates improve their English proficiency and pass the exam smoothly.
The chapter structure of this book is based on the assessment scope of the CET4 exam. Each chapter consists of two main parts: Question Type Analysis and Test-taking Strategies. The former analyzes typical full-length questions from previous exams and provides clear, accurate summaries to help candidates understand the underlying principles and develop methods for solving other questions. The TEST section features carefully selected questions with precise answer explanations. Even the most complex parts are elaborated on in detail, while subtle points are explained concisely.
The content of each part is as follows:
■ Listening Section: It is undeniable that many candidates have a fear of the listening section. This is because long-term English education has not emphasized listening and speaking skills, and the lack of a good English listening and speaking environment in China has left most candidates with weak foundations in these areas. However, with the right methods, scientific listening training on a solid foundation can lead to breakthrough improvements in a short time, allowing candidates to face the exam with confidence. This section provides detailed analyses and unique explanations for all listening question types. The four practice sets that follow will enable candidates to achieve high scores in a relatively short period.
■ Reading Section: The importance of reading comprehension in the CET4 exam needs no elaboration. Improving reading skills primarily lies in conscious, extensive reading and practical exercises. Each article in this section is carefully designed with difficulty levels, recommended time limits, self-assessment sections, and reading highlights to ensure practicality and depth. ■ Vocabulary and Grammar Section: Vocabulary is the cornerstone of the entire English language, and its importance goes without saying. We have meticulously reviewed and analyzed past exam questions. ■ Appendix Section: Adhering to the principle of practical exercises, we have provided two full-length CET4 mock exams in the appendix, designed to match the format and difficulty of the actual exam.
