Features: The "Zhang Menglong Stele" was erected in the Zhengguang third year (522) of Emperor Xiaoming of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The stele is located within the Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong. The stele's header bears twelve characters in regular script: [Clear Praise Stele for Zhang Fu Jun of Wei]. The stele's text is in regular script, with twenty-six lines, each containing forty-six characters. The back of the stele inscribes the official titles and names of those who erected it. The "Zhang Menglong Stele" exhibits bold and vigorous, yet refined and sharp brushwork. Its strokes are square and robust, while its calligraphic composition is unconventional, expansive, and deeply thought-provoking. Among the Northern Wei stone carvings, it stands out as the foremost.
