Features: "Report 2005" focuses on the study of modernization in the world economy. It adopts a research methodology that combines economic time-series analysis, economic cross-sectional analysis, and quantitative evaluation. The report analyzes the 300-year historical process of modernization in the world economy, completes a quantitative evaluation of economic modernization in 131 countries over the past 52 years, summarizes 26 facts and 14 insights about modernization in the world economy, expands classic theories of economic modernization, summarizes the principles and methods of broad economic modernization, and proposes several recommendations to promote the construction of China's economic modernization, including the Canal Strategy and Roadmap for China's economic modernization. The report completes a quantitative evaluation of the process of economic modernization in 52 years (1950-2002) in China and in 34 provincial regions over 20 years, as well as an analysis of the modernization index of 131 countries in the world and 34 regions in China in 2002. It provides basic data and a wealth of information for scientific research and policy-making. "Report 2005" reflects the current research progress of the China Modernization Strategy Research Group. Modernization in the world economy is dynamic, and China's economic modernization is complex. It is hoped that the research group can continuously deepen and improve its research results, strengthen policy-oriented research; at the same time, it is hoped that the group's perspectives can spark broader discussion.
