A Collection of Chinese Art History and Theory (Volume 1, 2, and 3)

Author: Jin Weino
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-09-01
Features: This book, in addition to the essential parts of the original papers, has also included some articles published in the late 20th century, especially the newly published works on the study of art in ethnic minority areas and explorations of painting history. The structure has also been reorganized. The first volume mainly includes arguments and discussions on archaeological finds of artworks, as well as articles on the general comprehensive discussions of art history before the Tang and Song dynasties. The second volume consists of articles on Buddhist art. Due to the loss of some Buddhist scripture transformation research papers during the Cultural Revolution, only a few published works have been collected here. The third volume focuses on the study of painting history records and the prefaces of various works, speeches at conferences, and reviews of certain exhibitions or works. It should be said that this "collection" is richer, more systematic, and more comprehensive than before, forming a more complete text that basically reflects my academic trajectory and achievements in the study of Chinese art history for decades. The study of art history is aimed at understanding, recognizing historical achievements and the artistic experiences of ethnic groups, as well as inheriting and developing our artistic traditions better.
