Features: The book is divided into four parts. Part 1 includes knowledge about the survival environment of microorganisms and their relationship with humans, the biological characteristics of various microorganisms, pathogen infections and immunity, and the theoretical knowledge of controlling and eliminating sources of infection. Part 2 (General Topics) includes the ecology, biological characteristics, pathogenicity, immunity, microbiological testing, and epidemiological prevention and control principles of various microorganisms that infect humans through different routes. Part 3 covers various aspects of sanitary microbiology. Part 4 (Testing Techniques) includes the tasks and requirements of laboratory diagnosis and surveillance in public health and disease prevention, basic testing techniques for various microorganisms, immunological serological testing techniques, molecular biology techniques, and other new testing technologies. It also includes the data processing of medical laboratory tests. The book consists of a total of 40 chapters, involving over 100 human pathogenic microorganisms. Moreover, there are a considerable number of zoonotic pathogens that have been discovered. Among them are both common pathogenic bacteria and viruses that harm human health, as well as bacteria, viruses, and prions identified in the past 20 years as highly infectious and highly lethal.
