Features: A secret manual of martial arts, which is the experience summarized by ancient Chinese martial arts masters based on their long-term practice and combat readiness. According to research, ancient and Republican-era handwritten manuscripts of martial arts manuals are extremely rare in existence today, and most are unique copies with a very limited number of surviving copies. Therefore, upon hearing the news that Shanxi Science and Technology Press intended to publish the "Secret Manual of Martial Arts" series, the author made the bold decision to donate his handwritten unique copies—The Illustrated Explanation of the Hidden Manual of Tiger Roaring Golden Bell Cover, The Illustrated Explanation of the Hidden Manual of Hunyuan Yin-Yang Five Elements Handbook, and The Illustrated Explanation of the Hidden Manual of Literary and Martial Eight Segments Internal Kung Fu—for photolithographic publication. These handwritten manuscripts, originating from the Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties and passed down in a traceable lineage, were collected by the early Republican National Nanjing Central Martial Arts Academy's editorial office between 1928 and the early 1930s and preserved as potential teaching materials. Given that the handwritten manuscripts are largely translated into colloquial Chinese, the author only supplemented the illustrations and texts that were not fully explained or annotated in the original copies during his annotations. The rest remains in its original form. It is believed that anyone with a high school education or higher can understand and comprehend the related content. Traditional martial arts are one of the excellent cultural heritages of our country. To study and inherit them requires referencing historical literature and materials. Only in this way can the traditional martial arts heritage of our country be preserved from being lost. It is believed that the publication of this book will serve as a reference, reference, and study tool for current researchers and enthusiasts of traditional martial arts. May all colleagues who are dedicated to the study and inheritance of traditional martial arts contribute their efforts to this cause.
