Features: This book is part of the "Learn to Sing" series, focusing on popular singing techniques. It first introduces popular singing, its artistic characteristics, vocal techniques, style variations, and singing skills. The book includes over 200 excellent songs for practice by music enthusiasts. Popular songs have long held a marginalized position in the sacred hall of music, with music theorists giving little attention to them, and even some famous pop singers believe there are no set rules to follow. However, if we carefully examine the complex phenomenon of popular songs, we can discover that both in composition and performance, there are indeed principles and methods to be followed. The widespread popularity of popular songs and the development of "popular singing techniques" have, at one time, become a tripartite force alongside classical and folk singing methods, known as the "third singing style." Whether this categorization is scientifically accurate or not, it has indeed become an established reality. The existence and rise of popular singing have recently prompted many to review and analyze it. While a systematic theoretical summary still requires time, it is feasible to conduct macro-level scans and micro-level case analyses based on observation and experience, which would be beneficial to current needs. Due to my professional background, I have had extensive exposure to many popular songs and singers over the years. Among them, there have been inevitable observations, analyses, and reflections.
