Features: This dictionary includes over 1,400 common allusions. The entries are organized into 36 categories based on meaning. Within each category, entries are arranged in the order of the Pinyin pronunciation of the first character of the term. Each entry consists of five parts: term, pronunciation, definition, source, and textual evidence.
Term: The terms included are primarily those commonly used by students and require explanation and usage indication.
Pronunciation: Each single character is annotated with Pinyin, not written as a continuous word.
Definition: The definitions strive for accuracy and conciseness. Generally, they first explain difficult characters or words, then elaborate on the original meaning, extended meaning, or metaphorical meaning of the term.
Source: The source of the allusion is indicated first, followed by a brief narrative, aiming for clarity and conciseness.
Textual Evidence: To assist in explaining the meaning and usage of the allusion, each entry is accompanied by textual evidence, marked with dynasty, author, and title.
For the convenience of readers, an "Index of Term Categories" is provided before the main text, and an "Index of Term Strokes" is provided after the main text.
