Features: To support the social art level assessment program mandated by the Ministry of Culture, and to provide candidates with convenient options for exam preparation and professional advancement, this series of books has been specially compiled based on the specific guidelines of the art and calligraphy assessment syllabus. This series covers eleven professional categories within the scope of the assessment syllabus: Chinese freehand flower-and-bird painting, Chinese meticulous flower-and-bird painting, Chinese freehand landscape painting, Chinese freehand figure painting, sketching, figure quick sketch, watercolor painting, gouache painting, oil painting, and Chinese calligraphy, as well as hard-tip calligraphy. Each category is divided into two books: one for the assessment syllabus illustrations and the other for corresponding professional techniques. Most of the writing work for this series was carried out by senior examiners appointed by the Ministry of Culture, who are highly influential experts in their respective fields both domestically and internationally. The illustrations were personally drawn by these experts and later reviewed and approved by the exam center's evaluation committee. The illustration book for each level lists multiple works, allowing candidates to understand the range of exam works and the specific requirements of the syllabus. The technique book serves as a supplementary teaching material for the illustration book, with typical works selected for each level and detailed step-by-step illustrations of painting techniques. Some books also include photographs of live subjects, demonstrations of painting postures, and examples of art supplies. Each step is accompanied by detailed explanatory text, aiming to provide strong guidance for candidates in various fields. As a foundational project, the social art level assessment is a supporting program for the Ministry of Culture's triennial "Starlight Award" evaluation. Therefore, the assessment of artistic proficiency and basic standards for each category requires Level 8 to meet the admission standards for art majors in national universities, Level 9 to qualify for provincial and municipal selections in the "Starlight Award," and Level 10 to achieve winning status in the provincial and municipal selections of the "Starlight Award."
