Features: At the time of the publication of this "Question Dictionary," as editors, we have much to say to our readers. As the saying goes, "mathematics is a gymnastic for the mind" and "a game for the intelligent." Without a doubt, various mathematical competitions—ranging from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) to regional events—have nurtured countless students and teachers. The role of extracurricular mathematical activities in inspiring interest in learning mathematics and improving problem-solving skills is not optional but indispensable in China's basic education. It is precisely for this reason that, over the past few decades, including mathematical competitions and other extracurricular mathematical activities, have been widely welcomed and supported by teachers, students, and parents. It is well known that the problems in various mathematical competitions are mostly prepared by experts and experienced teachers who specialize in the field. Therefore, in terms of the quality of the problems, whether in terms of depth or flexibility in solving, they far exceed the exercises that students typically do daily. With the purpose of "selecting the best from the best," "generalizing from one example to many," and "making it both searchable and doable," we have thoroughly processed the selected problems, striving to make this book both "practical" and "sufficient."
In addition to carefully selecting the problems, we have also focused on the solutions. For typical problems, we provide as many practical solutions as possible to help readers broaden their thinking. For more challenging problems, we provide original solutions, starting from the point of entry, to clarify the source of the reasoning and thereby achieve the effect of "generalizing from one example to many." We pay particular attention to teaching readers correct thinking methods rather than inundating them with advanced concepts, enabling them to achieve genuine improvement.
