Features: Urbanization is a hot topic in various disciplines today. However, it is economics that can deeply reveal the principles and basic mechanisms of urbanization. Of course, other disciplines also play an important role in understanding urbanization phenomena. This book provides an analysis of the economic process of urbanization. The analysis of the economic operation of urbanization is still a brand-new proposition in China. Urbanization is an inevitable qualitative stage in the economic development of human society. However, until the 1960s, people had not yet formed a systematic economic logical understanding of its inevitability, economic nature, social nature, historical nature, etc., although such understanding is crucial for guiding a country's economic development. Since the 1960s, although there have been many urban economics works both domestically and internationally, few have used equilibrium economic models for analysis. In China's development across the century, governments at all levels have successively determined development strategies with urbanization as the goal under the drive of real productive forces. However, the theoretical foundation for economic decision-making issues such as urbanization mechanisms, urbanization paths, and urbanization policy strategies remains relatively weak. This book aims to address this, summarizing the economic mechanisms of urbanization and exploring the regulatory mechanisms of the economic operation process of urbanization by establishing a city equilibrium model.
