Features: Chinese military flowers in Africa. As the first batch of female peacekeepers sent overseas by China, they are like 13 "tough roses," wild yet charmingly blooming across the African continent, leaving even the horizon in awe of the splendor of the "Chinese military flowers." They are the first "Chinese military flowers" to step abroad. Among them are the daughters of renowned generals, the offspring of ordinary workers, the wives of wealthy entrepreneurs, and the daughters of laid-off families; there are warm-family homemakers, fashion-conscious singles, selfless doctors who risk their lives, and considerate nurses. Regardless of their status, they are all tough and vibrant Chinese military flowers.
The United Nations Peacekeeping Forces are a multinational special force established under relevant UN resolutions, founded during the Suez Crisis in 1956. The Chinese Peacekeeping Level 2 Hospital is staffed by 43 Chinese military personnel, including 13 women. They hold several "firsts": the first batch of Chinese peacekeeping medical teams; the first female Chinese military personnel to participate in international peacekeeping operations; the first female Chinese military doctors and nurses who traveled far to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
This book depicts the special experiences and real lives of the first batch of UN peacekeeping female soldiers deployed to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It describes how they faced Africa's harsh natural environment, local rebel forces, AIDS patients, terrifying African mosquitoes, loneliness, and homesickness. The book includes 220 precious photographs taken by the female soldiers in Africa. For the war-torn and impoverished people in the region, the Chinese Peacekeeping Level 2 Hospital is no less than a paradise as they had imagined. The performance of the Chinese medical staff is outstanding, and their nursing is first-class. They are clearly a role model and a mirror.
