Features: The Analects is a compilation of the sayings of Confucius and his disciples, one of the most important classics of Confucianism, primarily adopting the form of recorded conversations. Collected and compiled by Confucius's disciples and their successors, it serves as the main source for studying Confucius and Confucian thought, particularly the original Confucianism. During the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhu Xi combined the Analects, the Mencius, the Great Learning, and the Doctrine of the Mean into the "Four Books," elevating their status within Confucian classics. The content of the Analects is all-encompassing, becoming a precious treasure of the cultural spirit of the Chinese nation. It offers people many insights, wisdom, and principles for living, and has had a profound influence on the development of Chinese society. This book provides annotations and translations of the Analects, considering the reading needs of middle school students, especially as some chapters and sentences may become exam content. We have annotated each real word, virtual word, and classical sentence in detail, combined with examination points, and translated the original text into simple modern Chinese. Each chapter is accompanied by a brief introduction and explanation. In the annotations, translations, and evaluations of this book, we have referred to the works of many predecessors and contemporaries.
