As the saying goes, "mathematics is a gymnastic for the mind" and "a game for the intelligent." Without a doubt, various mathematics competitions—ranging from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) to regional events—have nurtured countless teachers and students. The role of extracurricular mathematics activities in inspiring interest in learning and improving problem-solving skills in mathematics is not optional but indispensable in China's basic education. For this reason, over the past few decades, including mathematics competitions and other extracurricular mathematics activities, have been widely welcomed and supported by teachers, students, and parents. As early as the 1950s, renowned Chinese mathematicians like Professor Hua Luogeng greatly emphasized the cultivation of outstanding young talent, advocating and organizing numerous mathematics competitions that attracted a large number of math enthusiasts. In 1981, the "National High School Mathematics League" was initiated by the Chinese Mathematical Society. This popular grassroots mathematics competition was well-received by middle school teachers and students across the country and was also recognized and supported by educational authorities, various science and technology associations, and people from all walks of life. In addition to serving as a popular extracurricular mathematics activity, the "National High School Mathematics League" is also linked to the "National High School Mathematics Winter Camp," serving as a selection mechanism. It is well-known that the problems in various mathematics competitions are mostly formulated by experts and experienced teachers with specialized knowledge. Therefore, in terms of the quality of the problems, whether in terms of depth or flexibility in solving, they far exceed the exercises students typically encounter daily. For the questions from past years of the "National High School Mathematics League," after careful review, we have strived to provide as many practical solutions as possible to help readers broaden their thinking. For more challenging problems, we provide original solutions, starting from the point of entry, to clarify the source of the thought process, thereby achieving the effect of "generalizing from one to many." We pay particular attention to transmitting correct thinking methods to readers rather than inundating them with advanced concepts, enabling readers to achieve genuine improvement.
