Features: The short essays collected in this volume are divided into five groups. Two of the groups carry a touch of reminiscence. "Record of a Quest for Truth" was written at the request of He Zhaotian and published in the twelfth issue of Academic Thought Review. This "Academic Autobiography" was left unfinished, but I don’t know when it will be continued. "His Voice Carries Thought—On Racing" is included in a collection of essays and reminiscences written by friends for Fan Jingma’s return performance, titled No One Sleeps Tonight. The second group consists of pieces that are somewhat like academic papers and form the main body of this collection. Wanderinger’s Introduction to Linguistics in Philosophy is a long preface written for the author’s translation of Linguistics in Philosophy. The third group is reviews and interviews. The fourth group includes some more scattered remarks. "A Dream of China" was published in a 1999 issue of The New Report. "In the Name of History" appeared in the Cultural Times of the third issue of The Sociologist’s Tea Party in 2003. The last two essays in the fifth group discuss art. "Notes on Art" was published in Thought in Vision. "Reflections on the Opening of Hu-Shen Gallery" was first published in the art book Beyond Boundaries, issued for the opening of Hu-Shen Gallery in January 2004, and later reprinted in Reading in the seventh issue of 2004.
