Features: Excess, the absurdity of a body that doesn’t matter whether it sways anywhere, creates his loneliness. It is a tragic loneliness, rooted in misfortune and suffering from a distant childhood. After the accident, he becomes even more isolated. He often faces a young girl he injured, who is disabled and cannot speak, making communication impossible. "I search everywhere for happiness, but I can only find it in small corners, small books, nowhere else." Little Eva is an illegitimate child with little paternal love and even less maternal love. She has no acquaintances in this city and rarely speaks to others at school. Later, she is injured and loses her ability to speak at a young age, completely isolated in silence, "becoming a little nun, without voice, without joy, without childhood." Her short life was spent in solitude. Eva’s mother, Thérèse, is a woman lacking responsibility, but she is also a lonely woman, with no man loving her. People only play with her for the sake of it, so her words often include "sadness, meaninglessness," "envying those who drown," "hoping to drift like snow, scattering and no longer thinking," she concludes: "My life has been unstable, like a blurry photo." This book won the 2003 French "International Broadcasting Book Award" for its refined style, fresh ideas, and rich content. French media praised it as a dreamlike realist work that challenges One Hundred Years of Solitude. The book also includes the author’s other masterpiece, Poems of Procreation. The same-titled film stars Cannes Best Actor Gérard Darmon and Cannes Best Actress Emmanuelle Devos. With its refined style, fresh ideas, and rich content, it won the 2003 French "International Broadcasting Book Award" and was hailed by the media as a "dreamlike realist work" comparable to One Hundred Years of Solitude by García Márquez. Sales have exceeded 100,000 copies.
