Features: A philosopher once predicted that the Renaissance of the new era would occur in 2019. With the rapid development of economic construction, more and more people have begun to focus on the return of thought. Articles are like landscapes on the desk, and good books are companions by the pillow. To better promote the excellent culture of our country, the book series "Treasures for the Desk and Pillow (Volume 2)" organized and planned by Qingdao Publishing House has finally been presented to the literary enthusiasts. According to the series editor Wu Qingbo, the "Treasures for the Desk and Pillow (Volume 2)" selects famous Ming and Qing Dynasty prose works such as "Records of Traveling and Residing," "Dreams of Tao'an," "Miscellaneous Records of Frost Red Pavilion," and "Six Records of a Floating Life." The annotations are rigorous, and the comments are flexible. The layout of the series is elegant, with the main text and comments in 10-point font, and the paper used is thin, yellow Montblanc paper, making it very suitable for reading by the desk and pillow at night. Yuan Zhongdao, styled Xiaoxiu, was a Ming Dynasty litterateur whose writing was either bold and swift, sharp and novel, concise, or leisurely, mostly revealing his personality and touching the hearts of readers. His work "Records of Traveling and Residing" is a collection of notes and essays on daily observations, which was published in the 1930s under the title "Yuan Xiaoxiu's Diary." Due to its spontaneous nature, it particularly appears carefree and unrestrained, completely devoid of the formal style of "articles," making it rare in ancient prose.
