The upper volume consists of 28 lessons, and the lower volume has 18 lessons. The first 8 lessons of the upper volume focus on phonetics; lessons 9 to 18 gradually increase the grammar content; lessons 19 to 28 emphasize grammar and vocabulary. Each lesson in the upper volume is composed of 2 to 6 dialogues and short passages, while some lessons in the lower volume include additional supplementary texts.
