At this time, Jenny has fallen into a life of debauchery. Forrest has always loved Jenny, but she does not love him. After the war, Forrest is honored as a hero and meets President Johnson. At a peace rally, Forrest meets Jenny again, and they have a fleeting encounter and separation. Guided by the motto "Do what you say you will do," Forrest eventually carves out his own path. Throughout his life, he meets many famous Americans.
