Features: Public policy analysis is a highly applied, operationally technical, and interdisciplinary subject. In-depth study of it requires further strengthening the application of fundamental theories from multiple disciplines such as political science, economics, law, sociology, management, computer science, and systems science. At the same time, since public policy objects involve all areas of social life and policy content is extremely rich, it also requires specialized knowledge from various fields. For this reason, "policy analysis" works written by foreign scholars can be roughly divided into two categories: one studies public policy from the perspective of general principles, techniques, and methods, while the other conducts systematic analysis of specific policies. China has relatively late involvement in public policy analysis research, but thanks to the diligent efforts of numerous experts and scholars, its research achievements have been remarkable. Since the 1990s, a large number of scholars specializing in public administration have gradually shifted their research focus to the field of policy analysis, further enhancing the research strength in this area. This book is based on lecture notes for a "Public Policy Analysis" course offered to graduate and undergraduate students, as well as over ten papers published in various journals such as The Journal of Peking University, China Public Administration, Administration and Law, and Administrative Forum in the past two years. The book is divided into four parts: Theoretical Foundations, Process Analysis, Operational Techniques, and Practical Research. During the writing process, it incorporates the extensive research findings of scholars both at home and abroad.
