Features: This year, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) made minor revisions to the "2002 Athletics Competition Rules." To adapt to international competitions and better align with global standards, in accordance with the notice issued by the Chinese Athletics Association on March 2, 2004, regarding the implementation of the 2004 IAAF Athletics Competition Rules, and the instruction that all national competitions starting this April would execute the modified content of the "2004-2005 Athletics Competition Rules," Beijing Sport University organized experienced national-level and above athletics referees to compile this "Manual of Athletics Competition Refereeing—Judging Methods for Large-Scale Athletics Competitions." This "Manual" primarily introduces judging methods for large-scale competitions while appropriately addressing the competition refereeing work for smaller and medium-sized sports meets. The book elaborates on judging tasks such as electronic timing, electronic starting, and laser distance measurement. The "Manual" can serve as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate students in sports universities and also as a reference book for athletics refereeing exams at various levels.
