Features: Currently, China is undergoing a new round of basic education curriculum reform. This reform is the largest in scale and covers the most comprehensive content since the founding of the country. It involves comprehensive reforms in multiple aspects, including changes in educational objectives, adjustments in curriculum structure, reforms in curriculum implementation and teaching methods, textbook reform, changes in teachers' teaching behaviors, and changes in students' learning methods. This poses new challenges to teachers. Accordingly, we consciously compiled the book "Curriculum and Instruction" as a learning textbook for adult higher normal education, as well as a self-study resource for educators in primary and secondary schools. When constructing the content system of this book, the focus was on how to organically integrate curriculum theory and instructional theory. In writing the manuscript, we attempted to: first, as widely as possible, absorb current domestic and international research findings, paying attention to reflecting the latest information and developments; second, ensure that theory is linked to practice, focusing on hot topics in curriculum and teaching discussions; third, strive for rich content, detailed citations, and originality, hoping to provide assistance to the teaching of primary and secondary school teachers.
