However, inspired by his childhood dreams and Catherine's encouragement, Esko becomes a renowned architect. Their love is discovered by Catherine's wealthy husband, and in the end, to protect Esko, Catherine kills her husband and is sentenced to prison. Esko takes her place in prison, but he is ultimately tragically killed by his opponents.
