Features: The main characteristics of these 15 selected scores are as follows:
1. Rich repertoire content, diverse themes and genres, strong styles, and prominent features. These works were carefully selected through long-term artistic and teaching practices from a large number of traditional, folk, and composed pieces. They represent the culmination of 20th-century Chinese instrumental solo music and hold historical significance.
2. The selection of repertoire reflects principles of representativeness and practicality. With a focus on combining ideological and artistic value, the scores prioritize versions recognized by the authors or widely used in the music field, ensuring academic authority. Attention is also given to selecting representative pieces that showcase the development of a particular instrument's technique, as well as works that have stood the test of time, hold historical status, and are commonly used in performance and teaching.
3. The selection of repertoire balances systematicity and accessibility. The technical difficulty of the works spans beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, with an orderly arrangement from easy to challenging, reflecting systematic and progressive teaching principles. Extensive efforts have been made to standardize notation and performance symbols to ensure accuracy. Most of the included pieces have been revised and proofread by the authors themselves. Among the composed works in the 15 scores, all are newly created 20th-century Chinese instrumental solo pieces. These works emerged under specific historical and cultural contexts, possessing their own artistic development and era-specific characteristics.
