Since its publication in 1986, this series has been well-received by a broad readership and has played a significant role in the review and preparation of adult college entrance examination candidates nationwide. Over the past decade, with the development of adult higher education in China and the changing learning needs of readers, especially the revisions of the "Comprehensive Review and Examination Syllabus for Adult College Entrance Examinations," this series has undergone nine comprehensive revisions. Through continuous refinement, the overall quality of the series has improved, with a more scientific and rational structure, making it a core textbook for adult college entrance examination candidates and enjoying a good reputation nationwide. The newly revised and published 10th edition, aligned with the requirements of the revised "Comprehensive Review and Examination Syllabus for Adult College Entrance Examinations (Senior High School Starting from High School Entrance Examination to Undergraduate and Junior College)," features the following characteristics: 1. Closely aligned with the syllabus, rich in content, accurate in description, and with highlighted key points. It emphasizes the review of fundamental knowledge and the training of abilities, with question types and exercises closely reflecting the actual exam, demonstrating strong practicality and targeting. 2. The selection and arrangement of content are more suitable for adult learning characteristics; it focuses on incorporating new knowledge and achievements, giving the series a stronger sense of timeliness. 3. The design of question types and the narrative style, among other aspects, emphasize the shift from knowledge-based to ability-based learning. While emphasizing the training of basic subject abilities, it also focuses on improving candidates' comprehensive knowledge application skills and exam performance. The systematic structure more perfectly suited to adult learning characteristics is further refined. 4. While covering the knowledge points of the new syllabus, the word count is appropriately reduced to make the series more concise and practical. The main revisions for this edition of "Mathematics" (Science, Engineering, Agriculture, and Medicine) include: 1. Adding the properties of inequalities: |a+b| ≤ |a| + |b| (a,b∈R) and the derivative formulas for sine and cosine functions. 2. Removing the trigonometric form of complex numbers and related content, the translation of coordinate axes, the arithmetic operations of function limits, the calculation of lateral and surface areas of cylinders, cones, and prisms and pyramids in polyhedra.
