Features: This set of guzheng scores follows the selection principles of Comprehensive Collection of Chinese Folk Instrument Music·Solo Pieces, featuring representative folk tunes from various guzheng schools across China and outstanding works by prominent composers of different guzheng traditions. It also includes a significant number of modern compositions and arrangements, totaling 212 pieces, organized into two parts:
Volume 1: Traditional Guzheng Pieces
Volume 2: Modern Guzheng Pieces
Volume 1 includes 132 traditional guzheng pieces, featuring representative tunes from regional traditions such as Shandong, Henan, Zhejiang, Hakka, and Chaozhou that gradually formed since the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as representative works from Shaanxi guzheng circles in recent years. The arrangement is primarily based on the length and approximate difficulty level of the pieces, with some categorized by different transmission lineages.
Volume 2 includes 80 modern guzheng pieces, mainly selected from widely popular compositions and arrangements for solo, duet, ensemble, and concerto. Most of these pieces have been practiced in stage performances and are commonly used teaching repertoire in music schools.
